Bodega Bay

Last weekend we went camping on the coast with our good friends Brenda, JP and Ryder.  It turned out to be a nice mini-vacation and good for us to get outdoors after a long winter.
The kids get special treats when we're camping......sugary cereal and donuts.....things that are not allowed at home!

This little girl wasn't afraid of getting dirty!

Adler taking a tub-bath at our campsite.

Owen and Ryder digging in the sand.  They had a blast searching for beach critters all weekend.

Two tall ships were visiting Bodega Bay that weekend, taking people on rides.  We had the pleasure of watching them sail by several times a day.  This ship was actually in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies!

Daddy's Girl!

This is not our tent, but it was the view from our campsite.

Canoeing in the Bay.

The Easter Bunny came all the way to Bodega Bay to hide eggs for the kids.  They were hidden really well in the plants and shrubs around our campsite!

The kiddos stole the washer boards from us.

Pure joy running on the beach.

The kids found a deep trench that was perfect for hiding in, rolling down, jumping in, and getting filthy.

DIRTY.

Yes, she did take a shower after this!

Micah took the boys crabbing several times and this was the highlight of the trip.  Check out all the tiny crabs they captured (and later released).

This trip was an early birthday celebration for Micah, who turned 35 last week!  I just love this photo of my family!

Take me out to the ball game.....

Owen is officially a T-Ball player, and has the best coach in town, Coach Micah (or Coach Daddy, as Owen calls him).  They've been practicing for a few weeks and had their first game last night in 34 degree weather and a snow storm.  I thought for sure the game would be cancelled, but not in Nevada.  The game went on!
Owen playing second base.
It was freezing cold and total chaos.  Adler screamed the entire time and Micah's co-coach was missing.  By the end of the game half the kids refused to play and were crying themselves.  I could hardly blame them.  I'm hoping for better weather for all our future games!
The Rangers trying to stay warm in the dug out.

Owen batting in the snow

He was freezing, but a really good sport!
Opening ceremonies were last weekend in the middle of a wind storm.  You just never know what "spring" weather in Nevada is going to bring.

Having fun on picture day!

Monterey, CA

We went to Monterey, CA two weeks ago to see my bestie Tracy and her family.  They are moving to Monterey next month and I am thrilled beyond words that they will live within driving distance!  It was a really quick trip, but we managed to spend one entire day at the awesome Monterey Bay Aquarium.  We opened it up and closed it down.  The kids adored it and I'm pretty sure we could have spent an entire week there.
Cecily, Adler and Owen
It was so much fun seeing our children play together so well.  I'm looking forward to them getting to know each other better.  Adler is still talking about Cecily all the time!

Owen LOVED the penguins!

Relaxing in the hotel.

The weather was rainy and chilly the entire weekend we were there, but it did stop raining briefly, long enough for us to play on the beach and have a picnic lunch.

We had some overly-friendly squirrels trying to steal our picnic food!

Another Ski Day

The boys had another ski day together and of course Micah got some great photos.  We're really short on snow this year, so we haven't really been in the skiing mood.  But Owen seemed to enjoy the few days he got out there!

I just love this one, riding up the lift.

Not too shabby of a lake.

We're Back!

I've been on a blog hiatus lately, but it's nice to be back!  I just finished an online college class on Child Growth & Development in preparation to take the IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) exam this summer.  The exam requires certain college classes and out of six years of studying public health, I was missing that one course.  VERY frustrating, but now it's done and I can start studying for the exam.  Micah was extremely patient and supportive while I took the class, as it did take me away from the family on weekends and in the evenings.  He's probably the most happy that I finished it!  So now I'm going to play catch up on what we've been up to over the past few months.
Enid and I had a "ladies weekend" in North Lake Tahoe, with a group of fantastic ladies!  What a treat!

This photo makes me a little nervous, but he wasn't scared at all.

The Prius in the snow!

We took the kids to see the Lorax in 3D.  This was Adler's first movie in the theater and she did awesome!

At the Discovery Museum

Yes, he's a true Langdon.

Grandma came to visit!

I celebrated my 34th birthday with good friends in Monterey.  More pictures to come from our fun trip.

My birthday gift???  A new road bike!  Now I can plan what events/triathlons to sign up for this year!

Owen's class had CRAZY week at school.  This was crazy hat day.

This was crazy clothes day, and check out that mis-matched outfit!
