Tall Boy

Here's some pictures from the past few weeks that I never posted. Also, we learned at Owen's two year doctor appointment that he is 38 inches tall (100+ percentile) and weighs 30.5 pounds (55th percentile).....so he's very tall and thin. Where'd all that baby fat go??

Owen still loves to sleep in our bed.

Owen loves the train set from Grandma and Papa! All he ever wants to do is play CHOO-CHOO!

Growing up in Nevada

This is what happens when you raise your child in Nevada.....

Photo Shoot on the Lake

My mom, step-dad, and brother Brian have been here visiting for the holidays. Since they don't get to see Owen very often, we took the opportunity to take some family photos. It was great having them here and Owen has been walking around today asking where his Grandma went??? We will definitely miss everyone!

Whoops......the snow was deeper than I thought.

White Christmas

We woke up Christmas morning to several inches of SNOW!!! It was absolutely gorgeous outside. But before we ventured outside that day, Owen had a blast opening all his gifts. He doesn't understand that Santa came to visit him yet, but he definitely understands opening gifts! And this year was all about Thomas the Train! Owen is absolutely obsessed with trains and loves playing with his new train set. He also received his very first bike, but we haven't been able to take it outside yet. Owen received many, many gifts in the mail, so thanks to everyone who spoiled him! He's having so much fun with his new toys.....but I think we need a larger house to store them all in. :o)

That's an Ugly Christmas Sweater......

We went to a Ugly Christmas Sweater Party last weekend and had a blast! After the wonderful dinner that Gladys and Steve prepared, we took the kids and went bowling. This was Owen's first time to bowl and he LOVED it!!! Almost everyone at the party actually participated by wearing an ugly holiday sweater. Most of us had success shopping at second hand stores.

A little beer to make the pain go away for Micah....

Lawrence, Steve & Erick
(I think Steve wins the prize for ugliest sweater. You can't see the entire design , but there's a giant penguin that wraps around his side)

All the kiddos: Ethan, Owen, Jessie & Kameron

Micah's a good sport - crutches and all.

Playtime for the kids....they had a blast singing songs together.

Playing London bridge is falling down:

Look at those muscles!

Owen & Kameron......where'd the ball go??

Forget the bowling, I'm going to stuff my face with crackers.....

Knee Surgery for Micah

Micah had knee surgery last week, but he's doing great and seems to be recovering well. He has his follow-up appointment with his doctor tomorrow, so we'll know something for sure then. Since Micah is pretty much bound to the couch/bed, we've been watching a lot of movies. We don't have a TV in our bedroom, so Owen and Micah watched several movies on the portable DVD player, before Micah made the transition to the living room.
Here's Owen multi-tasking.....standing on his new scooter, eating, and watching his new favorite movie (101 Dalmatians) all at the same time. He's so talented! I'm sure Micah's sick of watching cartoons by now!

Oh Christmas Tree

Once Owen's birthday party was over last weekend, we were finally able to start celebrating Christmas, and the first thing on our list was to get a Christmas tree! Here's how it went down:
  • One $5 permit from BLM (Bureau of Land Management)
  • Langdon family running late Sunday afternoon to find the perfect tree.
  • Driving around the desolate hills in east Carson City, knowing it would be dark in less than 30 minutes.
  • Walking all over the hills looking for that perfect tree as it got darker and darker.
  • By the time we decided on a tree, it was completely dark and the tree was, of course, on the side of a steep hill.
  • Mark and Micah cut the tree down to the lights of cell phones.
  • I balanced on the side of the hill with a screaming, cold Owen in one arm, and the camera in another.
  • Once the tree was cut, we had to find our way back to the jeep somehow, in total darkness and with a very unhappy toddler.
  • But we made it home and the tree turned out really nice!

Owen loves all the "balls" on the tree.

Let's Party!

Today we celebrated Owen's birthday at the Northern Nevada Children's Museum. He had about 12 of his friends come and play with him and they had a blast! Many thanks to everyone who came to celebrate and for all the awesome gifts Owen received. Owen was too busy at the party to open the gifts there, but he was thrilled when he saw all the presents at home this afternoon. He was SOOOO EXCITED to open them all and has been playing with new toys all day. We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends in Nevada! We also have good friends and family in Texas and Arizona, as Owen has received many gifts in the mail as well. THANK YOU! Owen is so loved!

Here's Owen's cake that we made. I wish I could take the credit, but Micah was the artist.
