Our Little Man

About a week ago we had some professional pictures taken of Owen......even though he's almost 2 and a half years old, these are his official 2 year photos. And I can hardly believe how grown up he looks in these pictures! Where'd my baby go? We used Johnstone Studios (www.johnstonestudios.com) in Reno and they took all of these great photos during a 30 minute mini-session. Honestly, I am amazed they turned out as good as they did because Owen wasn't exactly cooperating during the photo shoot. We've now decided to take a much-needed family photo shoot in about a month at Tahoe. Stay tuned.....

This one is my favorite! Yes, that's a mini tractor he's holding. You can't tell in the picture, but he's sitting on Micah's shoulders, one of Owen's favorite places to relax.

Half Way There......

I feel good. I'm not nauseous. I'm not throwing up. And I feel like myself again. FINALLY.
I can hardly believe it, but I'm already half way through this pregnancy......I guess we'd better start talking about names and making plans for this new family member. September is going to be here before we know it!

About two weeks ago we had another ultrasound (the one where most people find out the sex of the baby). We're waiting until the birth to find out, but what we did learn was that our baby is healthy and strong. That's all that matters!

Owen talks about the baby on a daily basis. He rubs my stomach and even tries to feed the baby by putting crackers on my belly. He also brings baby dolls up to my belly and seems to understand that's what's inside. We think he's going to be a great big brother!

Mr. Pedaler

Last week I was told by one of Owen's teachers at his school that 2 year olds can't pedal tricycles yet......this is why they have no trikes on the 2 year old playground. Should I send her this video????

Actually, Owen only pedals occasionally because he can go faster by scooting with his feet. It's all about the speed! Notice at the end of the video how Owen is wearing his sunglasses upside down. That's how he typically wears them.

Grandma's Visit

Grandma came to visit Owen this past weekend and we were sorry to see her leave this morning! Owen loved every bit of attention she gave him, and tonight he keeps asking where Grandma went....then he answers himself and says she's in Texas! Thanks mom, for all your help these past few days......we loved all your cooking!

My mom often wears her sunglasses on top of her head and guess where Owen must wear his glasses now???

Happy Easter!

Owen LOVED Easter.......or should I say he LOVED hunting for Easter Eggs! He actually hunted for eggs twice on Easter, once at our house and once at a friend's house. He would literally run the yard and pick up the eggs as fast as he possibly could. It was pretty cute.

My little man.....

Owen happens to be obsessed with tractors at the moment. When we're in the car he screams "TRACTOR" as loud as possible every time he sees one (which is more than you think). He can really find those tractors! On Easter he actually got to sit in one!

Happy 32nd Birthday, Micah!

Micah celebrated his birthday on Friday....the big 32! Luckily, my mom is here visiting from Texas for the weekend and she was more than happy to give us a toddler-free date night. So we drove to Reno for the evening and ate at the Melting Pot......my favorite fondue restaurant. YUM!

Some of my friends have been asking for a belly shot, so check out my 19 week belly. It's WAY bigger than my 19 week belly with Owen......does that mean a bigger baby??? I hope not!

On Saturday we took Owen to a community Easter Egg Hunt and he had a blast! We met up with his friends Ryder and Orrin.

Some good friends of ours, the Brooks Family, now live in Phoenix but were in Reno this past week. Luckily we were able to have dinner one night. Too bad we don't live closer because Owen and Natalie seemed to hit it off! It was great to chat with you Kim.....miss you!

FISH

A couple of weeks ago something happened to our fish tank (probably neglect) and all of our fish died within one week. So Owen has been very excited about getting new fish, and today was the day!

April Already?

I've been pretty sick for the past two weeks, so I'm finally playing catch-up on our pictures. Owen started attending a new school about 2 months ago and since then we've made an effort to get him together with his buddies from his old school on a regular basis. They get very excited when they get together!

Ryder, Orrin and Owen


Owen has developed a great imagination. This particular morning he discovered a "cave" in his cinnamon roll and immediately went to hide from the bear that must be inside the cave. We frequently find bears hiding throughout our house.


And we have a budding artist on our hands. Here Owen and Brock are drawing beautifully on the aqua-doodle.
