Adler Joy

It's hard to believe that Adler is already a year and a half! She is growing up so fast and becoming such a little girl. I thought I would dedicate this post to her and tell you what she's up to these days.

  • She is talking quite a bit and says these words: yep, no, mine, baby, "Owie", mama, dada, Sandy, doggie, "tank you", "pease", bye. She's doing some sign language as well.

  • She is currently teething, so I'm not really sure how many teeth she has at the moment. For sure 2 on bottom, 4 on top, plus getting several molars.

  • Adler loves to dance! When she hears music, her body moves.

  • She prefers being outside or in the garage with her daddy.

  • She still loves her baby dolls and wheels them around the house in her baby stroller with her purse on her arm.

  • She also likes to play with her food and shopping cart.

  • Most of all, she likes to play with anything her brother is playing with: animals, cars, trains, marbles, balls!

  • She enjoys reading books and is starting to sit longer to read!

  • She's still not the best eater and has to be in the mood to eat. She also has serious opinions on what she chooses to eat. Cookies are always acceptable.

  • Her hair is getting pretty long and we have to pull it back out of her eyes. For some reason I can't bare to cut it, so we're going to see if we can continue pulling it back and letting it grow.

  • She takes one nap a day now, for 2-3 hours in the afternoon (and occasionally in her high chair).

This is a picture from her school, right after the teachers did her hair. So pretty.

Another photo from school. She has graduated from the portable crib to a mat for naps. She's now one of the older kids in her classroom and they will start grooming her to move into the 2 year old room.

More than anything, Adler loves her brother!!

She likes to try on everyone elses shoes.

Love those chunky legs!

She found these crocs in her dresser the other day and happily wore them all around the house. Unfortunately, it's still too cold to wear them outside. We're hoping that changes soon.

Super Grandma!

My mom was here for a quick visit last weekend and let me just say that Owen is absolutely in love with his Grandma. I was out of the picture while Grandma was in the house. He wanted nothing to do with me and everything to do with Grandma. It was really quite sweet.

Here they are playing super heroes with their cool capes.

Owen is obsessed with his animal figures. He organizes them, builds houses for them and carries them everywhere.

Owen and Grandma sleeping in a "fort" on the floor in his room.

Last Sunday we all went skiing and it was a treat for Owen to show off his skiing skills and ski with his Grandma. We let Uncle Brian tag along too. :o)

My mom, Owen and me.

Here's a rare photo of Micah on skis. He's been snow boarding for 15 years, but wanted to ski with Owen last week.

Gorgeous views while Micah and I took a run by ourselves......first time all season. Thanks Mom!

Thanks for everything last week, Mom. We're so glad you came to Nevada to play!

Get Your Green On!

Here are the kiddos eating their green food while wearing their green clothes. The green eggs, green pancakes and green milk were a hit with Owen. He celebrated St. Patrick's Day all day, including a party at school and a visit from some rowdy Leprechauns! Apparently while he and his classmates were outside playing, the Leprechauns snuck into their classroom and made a mess! They knocked over chairs and tables, left green footprints and threw green yarn and streamers all over the place. Crazy Leprechauns!

More Winter Fun

We had more winter fun last weekend.....Micah and Brian may have had more fun than the kids.

We had crazy icicles.

Evening stroll in the snow with Daddy.

Gigantic icicle on the side of our house.

How many people can fit into our igloo???? Four. Barely.
But what fun is an igloo when you could have your very own sled hill?? Micah, Brian and Owen built a sled hill in our front yard last weekend. Our neighbors loved it because we took their snow and brought it into our yard to expand the sled hill.

Short, but Owen loved it!
