Funny Owen

Just a few random pictures of Owen playing around the house this week. Here he is at the dinner table after trying to take his shirt off, but realizing he could wear it as a hat.

Where's Owen????

I woke up one morning and found Owen playing in front of the mirror with an old jewelry bag on his head.

Thomas the Train.....LIVE!

We went to Reno today to see Thomas the Train LIVE! A year ago I had no idea what Thomas the Train was and now he is the center of my life. Owen is obsessed with trains and actually sat for almost 2 hours today watching the Thomas show. There was singing and dancing, with lots of trains and an auditorium full of toddlers. At the end of the show Owen was blowing kisses to the trains.......very sweet!

We met our friends Enid and Brock there......they have so much fun playing together!

Here are the boys getting some energy out during intermission. We asked them to hold hands to keep them together and off they went running, hand in hand!

Lazy Weekend

It was a lazy weekend around our house. Here are some random pictures of Owen.

Owen likes to look in his belly button for lint......but he really likes to search other people's belly buttons, so beware next time you come to our house. Owen has no problem lifting up your shirt to see what you're hiding in there.

Owen loves his new giant legos!
We went to a birthday party at the Children's Museum and Owen had a blast playing air hockey.
Here's Owen helping his dad cook dinner. What great boys I have!!!

Owen & Brock

We went to Reno this past weekend to see Enid and Brock. Brock and Owen have known each other since they were born and they played so good together! And I had a blast catching up with Enid! I wish we saw them more often, but it seems difficult to get together, even though Reno is only 30 minutes away.

Here's Owen and Brock when they were about 3 months old

Here's Brock and Owen at 2 years!

Sandy's off to a good start this year....

Our refrigerator has been full so we have been keeping the beer on the back patio to stay cold outside. We never thought Sandy would become a beer drinker.

My New Assistant

Last Monday morning I walked into my cubicle to find a new assistant sitting at my desk! If you don't recognize him, it is Robert Pattinson who plays Edward in the Twilight movie. My friend and co-worker Andrea received him as a Christmas gift (because she is equally obsessed with Twilight), and she decided to share Edward's presence with me! Thanks Andrea for giving me a much needed laugh on the Monday after Christmas!

Welcome 2009!

As 2009 begins we are grateful for many things, but also nervous about what the new year will hold. More specifically, we just hope to keep our jobs. With the economy at its worst, the design industry is struggling and the company Micah works for has already laid off many employees and even closed a few offices. So as you can imagine, we are grateful for every day that passes where we are both still employed. But we are looking forward to the new year and especially all the changes Owen will make this year (speaking in sentences and potty training, we hope). He seems to be learning at an alarming rate these days and we can hardly wait to see the progress he will make this year. We are also hopeful that the new leadership in our country will bring about positive changes in Americans and restore the hope that many seemed to have lost.

We made no plans for New Years Eve, so at the last minute yesterday we invited our friends Brenda, JP and Ryder over for a little New Years celebration. Owen and Ryder have so much fun together and they copy each other's every move. They might as well be twins.

Screaming "no more monkeys jumping on the bed!"

Owen shared his bed with Ryder for a few hours. But it did take them some time to fall asleep.

And after the boys were asleep, the adults had fun playing games and drinking champagne (until the boys woke up crying). Maybe next year we'll plan ahead and get a babysitter. :o)
