We. Love. Summer.

Here are some things we love about summer: lazy beach days in Tahoe, farmers markets, family bike rides, outdoor BBQs with friends, planting flowers, hiking in the mountains, cool evenings, and gardening. Ahhhhhh......life is good.

Reno Rodeo

We took Owen to the Reno Rodeo last night.....he loved seeing all the horses and action! We always worry when we go to events that last past his bedtime, but he did great last night! He just chilled in the stands, watched all the events, and clapped when everyone else clapped.

Owen's Friends

I snapped a few pictures of Owen with his buddies at school. He hangs out with Emily and Ian every day. In fact, we call Emily his first girlfriend because they follow each other around all day and have even been known to give each other kisses!

Owen and Ian are saying bye for the day......with a very cute hug.

Finally.....a summer hike!

My cousin Mandie has been visiting the area, working for a friend who's in the Reno Rodeo. We took her up to Tahoe last weekend for a hike and to see Emerald Bay. Somewhere in Emerald Bay my glasses are enjoying the cool water. I think they took a trip down Eagle Falls.

Owen loves to hike! He kept hitting Micah's head as if to say, "faster, faster!"

This was an easy hike, and we were so tired once we got to the top! This was definitely motivation to get back into shape. Of course Micah was carrying an extra 30 pounds, but what's my excuse???

Owen is 18 Months!

Yesterday we took Owen to the state capital grounds to take his 18 month pictures. We took the pictures ourselves this time, and I wasn't sure how we would do, but I think we got some good ones.

"How BIG is Owen?"
"So BIG!"

For all you Aggies, here's Owen's gig'em sign......notice the thumb is missing, but he does it with such enthusiasm!

This is probably my favorite picture, because he loves playing in puddles of water.

Tis the season for weddings

Our friends Kim and Bob tied the knot this past weekend in a beautiful ceremony on the shores of west Lake Tahoe. It was absolutely gorgeous with the lake as a backdrop for the entire event. We got a babysitter for the evening and really enjoyed our adult night out.

Texas, Our Texas!

We've been in Texas for the past week and now have a lot of catching up to do! I'm going to do it in multiple posts because we have SO MANY pictures to share. This was the 7th time for Owen to fly in an airplane......he's quite the traveler for an 18 month old! When we flew to Texas a week ago, our flight left Reno at 6:00 in the morning. He was a sleepy boy until he woke up in the Las Vegas airport. Actually, we traveled so much through Texas this past week, almost every time he woke up, we were somewhere new.

The Ranch

We spent a few days at my family's ranch in central Texas, mainly to see my Grandmom and for my cousin Mikkie's wedding. It's so much fun to have Owen on the ranch now. He loved seeing all the animals and running around in the country.

Here's Owen driving with his Uncle Brian and riding in the back of the truck. Of course he ONLY gets to do this at the ranch, going very slowly!

My cousin Mikkie had a beautiful country wedding out on the ranch.

Corpus Christi

We weren't planning on driving all the way to Corpus Christi, but as it turned out 2 of Micah's grandparents were in the hospital while we were in Texas. So we made the trip so Owen could cheer them up some. And while we were there we stayed with Micah's other grandmom, so it was nice to spend some time with her too. All the grandparents are recovering well and Micah's Pop is already back home.
