The Carson City Igloo

Last weekend Micah and Owen (mainly Micah) decided we needed an igloo in our front yard. So they spent hours and hours outside building this snow igloo.

Here it is before the roof was built.

Once the roof was on, it made a surprisingly warm and cozy space.

Success! We likely have the only igloo in Carson City right in our front yard! The neighborhood kids are very jealous.

Spider & Fish

Owen has been drawing a lot on the iPad. I really liked this one and thought I'd share. He says this is a spider and a fish.

Here are some random pictures taken of the kids around the house lately. We finally got some winter snow last weekend so we've been spending more time inside. It's a blizzard outside at this very moment as well. Lots of snow coming down!

Snowmobiling

Micah and I took Monday off work, took the kids to school and spent the day together. It's so nice to do that every once in a while. So, what did we do for Valentine's Day??? We went snowmobiling up at Tahoe.

This is something we hadn't done since living here and it was a good time. It would have been better if the people in front of us weren't slow pokes, but we eventually passed them and were able to get some speed.

After our ride we went back to Carson and had a late lunch before picking up the kiddos. Fun day!

Fun on the slopes!

Yesterday Owen and I spent another day skiing at Diamond Peak. I am completely amazed at the progress he has made over the past month. I don't think I've ever been more proud of him than I was watching him race down the mountain!

After his 2 hour ski lesson, we took a lunch break and then he was ready to get back out there! Here he is with his friends Sofia and Brynn.

All 3 kids with Gaby on the chair life. We're always a little nervous getting on and off the lift with the kids. They had it mastered by the end of the day.

Notice the lack of snow off the slopes. While Texas has had snow and record low temperatures, it's been spring-like up here. We are in desperate need of some snow (which we'll hopefully get this week).

Micah Loves Adam Carolla

Last night Micah and I went on a hot date. We drove into Reno, had a delicious dinner and then went to see funny man Adam Carolla. If you don't already know, Adam Carolla is a comedian formerly famous for Love Lines and The Man Show, and now hosts a daily Podcast and recently wrote a book. Micah listens to Adam's Podcast every day on his commute to and from work and our dinner conversations typically begin with, "Adam Carolla said....." (just add anything sexist or racist here)
So when I found out Adam was coming to Reno I had to surprise Micah with tickets. I'm just thankful Micah didn't run away with him after the show! :o)

The iPhone

I took Micah's iPhone to download a picture I took today and found a bunch of cool photos that I had never seen before. Apparently I need to download his photos more often. Some of these are several months old, but never seen on this blog.
