Lake Tahoe - Part 1

We recently took a 10 day vacation back to NEVADA!!!  It was such a blast spending time with all of our awesome friends, whom we miss every single day in Texas.  We also spent loads of time at Lake Tahoe, hanging on the beach, paddle boarding, and hiking.  Micah had to work most of the week, but managed to have some down time with us too!

Our first stop???  Time with amazing friends!!!

We hit the Carson City farmers market twice while we there and couldn't get enough of these delicious strawberries!  We just can't find strawberries this delicious in Texas.

 The first half of our week there we saw some really strange weather.  We got rained on for several days in a row and even hailed on twice in one day!  In the picture above Micah and Josh were paddle boarding in the rain......this made for an amazing photo!  But lightning soon followed and we booked it out of there.

 This is one of my favorite beaches, Chimney Beach.  The kids and I had a nice hike down to the lake and then spent the afternoon playing and relaxing!

 It was so windy this day that the waves looked like the ocean.

Owen and Ryder picked back up right where they left off....such good friends!

Family

We recently drove into College Station to celebrate my dad's belated birthday.  It was a quick trip, but but good to see my dad, whom we don't seem to see very often.

Brian and his girlfriend Lissette came to Austin for a quick weekend visit.  We toured the Capital, ate at food trucks and Salt Lick BBQ.  We probably gained a few pounds too.

Natural Bridge Caverns

We went to Natural Bridge Caverns with Glenna and Lovelace.  We were completely lucky to have gorgeous weather that morning for our ropes course.

Adler barely met the height requirement, but she climbed all the way to the top of the ropes course and never looked back.  She had a blast!  And Owen was all over the place with Lovelace....I barely saw him the entire hour we climbed around.

Then we toured the caverns, which were pretty awesome.

This was a really fun daytrip and we crossed one more thing off our Summer Bucket List!

Daddy Days!

I have been training for my new hospital job, which means the kids have had several weekends with just their dad!  This is what they do while dad's in charge:

They eat at lots of food trucks!

They spent loads of time at Barton Creek swimming and catching critters.  They also discover that Titus doesn't seem to be much of a water dog.

They drive to Wimberley to spend more time at the creek and catch even more critters.

They swim at Deep Eddy Pool, which is a natural spring-fed pool.

This is how they prepare a new fish tank for our house.....look, no leaks!!!

We now have a fish tank filled with critters from all those creeks......tadpoles, crawdads, and minnows!  I'm hoping they survive for a while.

Sea World with Grandma!

My mom has been wanting to take the kids to Sea World.  I was worried about the heat, but there were plenty of water rides, shade and splash pads to keep us cool!

We shut the park down at 9:00 that night!  We saw every show and rode all the rides the kids were interested in.  Super fun day!
