BIG BOY, BIG BED!

What happened to the crib????
Owen has officially graduated from his crib to a big boy bed! Micah spent this past week building and painting a toddler bed for him. Owen is pretty excited about it - and what a great daddy!!!

Here's Owen's new room, including his new train table that was given to us. Owen will get a train set for Christmas, but for now it's just a table for him to play on.

Happy Turkey Day!

We just finished our Thanksgiving dinner and now it's time to rest and watch football. Micah's parents flew in Tuesday and will be here through the weekend. Owen is certainly enjoying all the attention and drags his Olfa around everywhere! I almost feel like I'm on vacation, with the grandparents taking care of Owen so much!

Happy Birthday to EVERYONE!

This weekend was a PARTY weekend! Owen attended 2 birthday parties for Ryder and Sofia, who both turned two. And I also attended a baby shower in South Lake Tahoe for our friend Lindy. It was a very fun, but busy weekend! Now we're preparing for Micah's parents to join us this week for Thanksgiving.

I snapped this photo tonight of Owen laying on his changing table. Nothing but sweetness!

Owen was a perfect gentleman as he pushed Sofia around the house at her party.

It's really hard to get four 2 year olds in one picture, but I managed (barely).

Movies are never as good as the books.....

If you know me well, you know I have been obsessed with the Twilight books for a few months now. I was incredibly excited about the movie being released today and even took the afternoon off work to watch it with a friend (so we could see it before all the crazy teens got out of school). I wish I wasn't disappointed, but I am. It must be really difficult to translate a good book into a movie, because I read a lot and I'm never satisfied when movies are made out of books. You'd think I'd learn my lesson by now, huh? Now I need to find something else to obsess over.

Owen & Friends

Here are some pictures from last weekend when we went to a friend's house for dinner. All the adults were playing games on the wii, until the kids took over. This was Owen's first time playing video games and he seemed to really enjoy it.

Owen's Shenanigans

Some of these pictures are from October and just never got posted. There's never a dull moment in this house. We think Owen has officially started the "terrible twos." Several nights this past week he has thrown ridiculous fits, screamed for hours, refused to eat, and even slammed doors. We are in for it.

Normally Owen loves to eat yogurt, but this particular day he was just interested in painting his face.

This picnic table was outside all summer and recently we brought it inside for him to use during the winter. Big mistake.....now he hates his high chair and never wants to eat with us at the big table.

Notice all the hot wheels lined up on the window sill......he's very orderly (and he loves his tiger).

Owen made himself comfortable on the couch and was watching college football! I wonder where he learned that from???

I walked into the kitchen one day and found Owen up on the counter top, inside the bread box (he had emptied the contents so he could lay inside).

Here's Owen with SIX pair of my underwear around his neck....strange child.
And this is just a sweet photo of mom and son. Notice Owen's new haircut. When I was in Texas last week Micah took the clippers and buzzed his entire head.

Baby Love

I flew to Texas this past weekend to visit Tracy and Baby Cecily. It was great to spend quality time with Tracy, as we don't see much of each other anymore. And she has certainly taken to motherhood wonderfully. I'm sure it helps that Cecily is such a calm, good-natured, beautiful baby girl. This trip did make me realize what a big boy Owen has become. It's hard to even remember when he was 4 weeks old. I was happy to get home and see my boys though. Owen seemed thrilled to see me this morning, and I must say.......that made my day!

We drove to College Station for a very brief visit on Saturday.....we spent a total of 8 hours there, but I was able to visit with my Mom, Brian, Mary and Madison. I also finally got to meet Brian's girlfriend Elizabeth.....she was very sweet.

Happy mama and baby

Lacey, it was fun hanging out with you! You have become quite the baby whisperer!

Who Done It?

While I was in Texas this weekend, Micah woke up Saturday morning to a wrapped house. Not only was the toilet paper everywhere, but the yard was also "forked." So, do you think this was a teenage act on some random house??? We think not. This was too good of a job to have been random. Micah seems to think this was the doing of some of my friends. Whoever did it, BEWARE......we will find out and we will seek revenge!

VOTE.

Living in a "swing state" really makes an election interesting. We realized four years ago when we first voted in Nevada, how different it was than voting in Texas. In Nevada there is actually an election. The candidates come to our state very frequently to persuade voters because the state could either go red OR blue. We're anxious to see the results tomorrow night......and yes, we've already voted. Owen even helped keep me entertained while we waited in line 2 weeks before election day!

Nevada Day Parade

We spent Saturday morning at the Nevada Day Parade. As you can imagine, the parade was politically charged. I even saw people arguing about Obama and McCain.
Here's Micah holding Owen and Jessie.

The Capital grounds are gorgeous at the moment, with fall leaves everywhere. Owen and Jessie had a blast playing in all the leaves once they got bored with the parade.

Trick or Treat?

Last night on Halloween, we took Owen trick-or-treating to a few of our neighbor's houses, and then we went to the Governor's Mansion and surrounding area. The houses there go all out with decorations and haunted houses......it is amazing! The police closed off the streets to traffic and literally hundreds of kids and families were wondering around from house to house. Owen still doesn't grasp the concept of trick-or-treating, but he had fun just hanging out and watching all the other kids. And he was adorable when someone would give him candy and he would say, "tank-ooo."

Our friends: Gladys, Steve, Ethan, Mikki, Erik, Kameron, Lawrence, Karen, Jessie and us. After all the kids stuff, we put the kiddos to bed and the adults went out on the town. We rarely get a babysitter, so this was a treat for all of us!
