Adler Joy

Here's a few more pictures from our short stay at the hospital and our first night home with baby Adler. Owen is very interested in Adler and asks to hold her often. Whenever she starts crying Owen tells me "Baby needs you, Mama" OR "Baby needs to nurse, Mama." It's very cute!

Proud Big Brother

My mom has been here for 2 long weeks waiting on Adler to arrive. Finally, she gets to hold her granddaughter!

Owen received his own baby doll yesterday and I caught him copying his father last night.

First night home and we are pooped!!
Adler is a very good eater.....that's all she wants to do (which makes for a very tired Mom). I haven't slept much the past 2 nights, so hopefully we'll figure things out soon. But I can't complain because she is such a great nurser!

How to induce labor???

We keep trying a variety of ways to induce labor, but nothing seems to be working. I've been doing a bunch of walking and hiking because it seems to make my contractions stronger for a few hours. But then I go to sleep and wake up in the morning to nothing. Tonight we took an extreme hike to a nearby waterfall. If this doesn't make me go into labor, then I don't know what will!

Grandma and Owen had a blast climbing the rocks.
So my mom was supposed to fly back to Texas TODAY! But she extended her trip a few days in the hopes of meeting her second grandchild very soon. She's been here for almost 2 weeks now. The pressure is on.

Here I am showing off my almost 42 week baby belly.

Reno Balloon Races

My favorite Reno Event was this morning......I absolutely LOVE the Reno Balloon Races! This is the one morning per year that I willingly get out of bed before sunrise to see a bunch of balloons floating in the sky. And our day started around 4:30 am this morning. I really thought we were going to miss this event this year, as I thought we'd be home with a newborn. But I think Owen was glad we made it!

Owen announced that the bees were holding hands:

Our friends, the Jennings Family, live right down the street from where the Balloon Races are held and had a breakfast party on their lawn this morning. I was hoping all the walking and baby holding I did this morning would have put me into labor, but again.....NOTHING. I sure enjoyed cuddling with Baby Theo though! He's such a sweetie!

Still Waiting.....

Well, we're still waiting for baby to arrive, and trying to keep busy in the process. Today I thought a long walk on the beach and a change in elevation might help move things along, so we headed to Nevada Beach for a few hours. The weather was amazing!

Owen was thrilled when his daddy took his lunch break and joined us for a beach picnic.

Owen likes for me to pick him up so he can "sit" on the baby.

You must be wondering.....how could we go to the lake and forget Owen's swim suit??? I blame it on the pregnancy. This baby is taking all my brain cells. But at least Owen is in BIG boy underwear.....no more diapers for him! YAY!

Grandma and Owen still playing hard!

No Labor Day Here

Micah thought it would be funny if I actually went into labor on Labor Day.....no such luck! No real progress that I can tell and now I am officially over-due. But we've been staying busy getting things done around the house and playing with Owen. Today we met Ryder and his parents at the train museum and the boys had a blast riding the choo-choo train around in circles.

Owen & Ryder waiting for the train to pull into the train station.

Grandma and Owen

Some other ways we've been passing time this weekend......playing helicopter. Yes, Grandma has been spoiling Owen with toys that never would have been purchased by mom and dad.

Playing at the park and taking long walks.

Washing the dogs.

Did I mention how much Owen is enjoying being spoiled by his Grandma????

No Baby Yet!

I've realized that now is not a good time to become slacker on the blog.....I have started receiving phone calls, emails and text messages wondering if I've had the baby yet. Thanks to everyone who is checking in on me!

As you can see, I am still pregnant. My due date is a few days away, but I am feeling mild contractions and I have started dilating, so this baby will come soon. And by soon I mean I could go into active labor tonight or it could be a week from now. So we wait.

I'm feeling good though, just really exhausted. I'm still at work this week trying to finish some things up before I'm out on maternity leave. My mom is flying in Saturday and I'm anxious for her to be here because I know she'll be a huge help! And really, we are getting SO EXCITED to meet this new family member. I can hardly wait to see this baby for myself and know if it is a girl or a boy! I hope I don't have to wait too much longer!

SURPRISE!

Last week some of my friends at work threw me a SURPRISE Pool Party/Baby Celebration! I had absolutely no idea this was being planned, so it was a great surprise! My co-workers set up the party outside of our office and had good food, cold drinks, and even mini-pools to cool off our hot feet. I have to apologize to the party planners for being so difficult that day. I was hot, hungry and tired that afternoon and did not show up to my own party easily.

When I reluctantly made it outside to the party, they had a chair set up for me with my own personal mini-duck-pool to soak my feet in. I also had my own plate of food and drink waiting for me......talk about special treatment!

My co-workers also pitched in to give me a very generous gift card to Target, which will definitely come in handy in the coming months! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

It was really hot that day, so this felt wonderful!

These are my pregnant friends, Karen and Andrea. Karen is due at the end of October and Andrea is due in December. It's so much fun to have pregnant friends!!!
Many THANKS to Tasha, Gladys and Karen (and everyone else who helped) for planning this surprise party! It was fun to have a baby celebration for Baby Langdon #2!
