Nasty!
They don't all stink but you never know when one is going to sneak up on you so the face mask comes in pretty handy. The other night we were changing him and looked away for a second and when we looked back down there was a small fountain! At a closer look his face was dripping wet and some how he had sprayed the wall as well!! That is why you should alway wear saftey glasses. I had no idea the range a new born boy had with his pee!

Welcome Home Owen!
Owen has been home now for almost one day and we are really enjoying him. We were ready to leave the hospital yesterday afternoon and bring him home for the first time. He is such a good baby. He loves, loves, loves to sleep and rarely fusses. He seems to be very calm and easy going (a typical Langdon trait). The dogs are really curious about him but have behaved themselves so far....even Sandy! Kelly's mom is here and has already been so much help. She's been busy helping with Owen, cooking, and running errands for us. We're are so thankful she is here! Here are some more pictures of our new son (that sounds really weird)!!

Langdon Life!!!
We can now refer to “It” as Owen Jay Langdon! He arrived at 3:14 am on the 12th of December in Carson City, Nevada. He weighs 8 pounds 7 ounces and is 21 inches long. He has blue eyes and the little hair he has looks brown. Kelly did an amazing job. In the thick of it she went from 3 centimeters to 9 centimeters in about one hour. Ouch!

Coming soon....
Like it or not this baby is coming!!!
We had an appointment this morning where they did an ultrasound. Everything looked great except for the amniotic fluid was a little low so the doctor recommend that we induce labor. Not the best news but at least we will finally get to meet this little human that we created. So far we have been hanging out today. They gave Kelly some fluids and we walked a couple of miles up and down the small little hallway out side the room. She feels great now, but I have a feeling this is going to change pretty soon! Hopefully we will have a baby picture up for everyone to see very soon!

No Baby Yet
Well, the baby's due date - December 5th - has come and gone with no news to share. For the last nine months we have put so much focus on this one specific date, so it was kind of a disappointment yesterday for the day to pass with no excitement. But we all know that the due date is just an estimate and that the baby will for sure arrive in the next 2 weeks. We're really trying to be patient here, but it's getting harder every day.
We saw the doctor this morning and everything still looks good. They monitored the baby's heart rate and movement as well as my contractions for about 30-45 minutes. I am having regular contractions (they seem to be about every 10 minutes or so) but I'm not feeling them at all. The doctor doesn't think I'll go into labor until next week, although anything can happen at this point. My next appointment is on Monday where she will monitor the baby again and do an ultrasound to check on everything. We haven't had an ultrasound since I was 19 weeks along, so that should be fun. That's about all we know for now. But we do feel blessed that the babe is healthy and made it the entire 40 weeks! And now we'll just try to keep ourselves busy so we don't dwell on when the baby will arrive.

One more day and a Christmas Tree
So I don’t know if you guys have been counting but we are officially one day away from having a baby. Well at least one more day until our due date. We will have to see if this kid is a procrastinator like its old man. If not on Tuesday, then hopefully by the end of the week! We will keep you posted.
We had a pretty good weekend. On Saturday Micah went up to Heavenly for the morning and managed not to hurt himself to bad. Kelly had a relaxing pedicure, so her feet will look nice when she meets her new child for the first time! In the afternoon we went to Jacob’s birthday in Reno. Jacob is Andrea’s son whom Kelly works with. He turned one, and it was funny because about halfway though the party he had to sneak out and take a nap. That night we got our first real Christmas tree as a married couple. We decorated it on Sunday and put together a video of the process. Hope you enjoy it.

Gobble Gobble Weekend
We spent Turkey Day with our friends Enid and Cory in Reno. Enid is also pregnant and due 5 days before Kelly.....now the race is on to see who has their baby first! Her parents did most of the cooking and were really sweet to have us over. Today we spent the day in Reno with other friends, Eric and Hillary. We probably saw the last movie of our non-parenting lives, the new James Bond 007.
Then we went to a Chocolate Bar to satisfy Kelly's recent sweet tooth. It's been a pretty good and relaxing 4 day weekend.

We're counting down......

Only 13 days until the due date! It's getting really close, but I think we're going to have to keep waiting. We saw the doctor today and there is no progress or sign that the baby will come early. The doc thinks this will be a December baby after all. And she said to prepare myself in case the baby decides to have a late arrival! But I'm feeling really good and don't really have any complaints. We're both getting anxious to meet this little baby and find out if it's a boy or a girl. Place your bets now!
I do think my belly is growing bigger and bigger by the minute! The doctor estimates that baby is now around 7 pounds, growing fast, and very healthy. The babe also likes to hang out on the right side of my belly......never the left side! My belly is definitely lop-sided!

All our bags are packed, we're ready to go......
We have been really busy this past week getting prepared for baby's arrival! I had another shower at my office last week, planned by my good friend Tasha. They all pitched in and gave Baby Langdon a red Radio Flyer tricycle that came with red cowboy boots and a red cowboy hat! It is SO adorable! Micah and I both had red boots when we were kids, so this gift was extra special! We also received a bunch of other gifts.....clothes, blankets, toys, cups, plates, spoons and more! It's truly amazing how generous everyone has been!

Micah and I have our hospital bags packed and the baby's room completely ready to go now. We did our last minute shopping this weekend and feel like we're as physically prepared as we're going to get! We took an infant care class on Saturday where Micah practiced putting on diapers and swaddling the baby like a burrito. We also received a tour of the hospital and the maternity ward. The rooms are spacious and super nice! They are labor, delivery and recovery rooms, which means we'll stay in the same room the entire stay (unless we have to have a C-section for some reason). The rooms are nicer than many hotel rooms we've stayed in and come equipped with a TV, DVD player, microwave, small fridge, and a couch/bed for the hubbies to sleep. The newborn babies also stay in the room with the parents. We have been very impressed with the hospital!
Oh, and not only does baby have it's first pair of boots, he/she also has it's first pair of converse tennis shoes!!! We just couldn't resist!

Nevada Baby Shower
On Saturday my good friend Kristin threw a baby shower for me in Reno. It reminded me what wonderful friends I've made here in Nevada. There was a great turn out and I was showered with tons of lovely gifts! I received a custom-made diaper bag, hand knitted booties/scarf/beenie, baby bouncer, baby bath tub, monitors, clothes, and lots of toys. My mom also flew in town for the occasion.....I think she wanted to see me while I was 8 months pregnant! That's right, only one month left!! Should Micah and I start panicking now???

More Baby Stuff
If you're not tired of hearing about baby stuff, keep reading. We just received our glider this week, after waiting over 3 months for it to arrive. It's really big and comfy and I think it will be nice to have during those middle-of-the-night feedings! Thank you Mimi and Olfa!!! The baby's room is now complete! We've also bought a digital video camera and Micah is trying to figure out how to use it tonight.....he seems a little frustrated with it right now, but I'm sure he'll get the hang of it.
We had a doctor's appointment today and things are still looking good. Dr. Koch thinks the baby could possibly come early because of the baby's size and how low I am carrying. It's nothing to worry about, she just thinks the babe may come earlier rather than later! We took a breast feeding class last night, which will probably be helpful. And we were supposed to start our childbirth class tonight, but it was cancelled due to a sick instructor. So we'll have to reschedule. We also have already pre-registered at the hospital and met with our new Pediatrician, so we are ready!
I'm still feeling really good......my only complaint is that my feet are a little swollen and I can't fit into many of my shoes! I had to buy a pair of cheap shoes today so I'd have something to wear!

Baby Shower in Texas
The Texas baby shower was a big hit! My friends are wonderful and really made everything very special. Melissa gave me a huge surprise by flying into Texas all the way from Washington DC.....I was shocked to see her walk through the door!!
We received a ton of gifts....our car seat, pack-in-play, stroller, and high chair were all purchased and are being shipped to Nevada. Micah's Aunt Nannette made a gorgeous blue and green afghan. My mom made several items to match the baby's room, inlcuding an organizer that hangs on the crib and a cute stuffed hippo. We received lots of other gifts too, as you can see in the picture. Oh, and a bunch of Texas A&M clothes for our future Aggie! If you're wondering what in the world Micah is doing in the last picture.....Tracy's husband Matt gave Micah a "Diaper Duty Tool Belt," equppied with everything he will need to change diapers!!! Does he look ready, or what??

Healthy Baby
I had another doctor's appointment today and everything still looks good! Now the doc wants to see me every 2 weeks and she gave me homework......by my next appointment, I need to have chosen a pediatrician and have pre-registered at the hospital!!! My doctor seems to think this baby is coming soon.....but I guess I only have 2 months left so I better get myself in gear! She did tell me she thinks the baby is positioned head first now (although this could change because the baby is still moving around quite a bit). But this was good news for me! Baby Langdon is also starting to fight for space. It's little foot keeps kicking me in the ribs and making me a bit uncomfortable. The baby and I are going to have a little chat about this tonight! :o)
