Another Ski Day

The boys had another ski day together and of course Micah got some great photos. We're really short on snow this year, so we haven't really been in the skiing mood. But Owen seemed to enjoy the few days he got out there!

We're Back!

I've been on a blog hiatus lately, but it's nice to be back! I just finished an online college class on Child Growth & Development in preparation to take the IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) exam this summer. The exam requires certain college classes and out of six years of studying public health, I was missing that one course. VERY frustrating, but now it's done and I can start studying for the exam. Micah was extremely patient and supportive while I took the class, as it did take me away from the family on weekends and in the evenings. He's probably the most happy that I finished it! So now I'm going to play catch up on what we've been up to over the past few months.

Enid and I had a "ladies weekend" in North Lake Tahoe, with a group of fantastic ladies! What a treat!

My birthday gift??? A new road bike! Now I can plan what events/triathlons to sign up for this year!

Diamond Peak

Last weekend we took Owen skiing for the first time this winter. It's been such a mild winter with so little snow, it's been hard to get into the winter activities! Surprisingly, the conditions were pretty good......but I think there's a lot of man-made snow.

It took Owen a few hours to get the hang of skiing again. We spent most of the afternoon on the bunny slope, but a few hours later he was going up the big lift!

Micah and I took turns hanging with Adler and skiing with Owen. She was a good sport, playing in the snow and watching the skiers. She's already asking to ski with Owen!

Slow Goin'

Not much to report on here. We've been laying low, fighting colds and stomach viruses, and just trying to stay afloat. Poor Owen has had the chicken pox, a cold and a stomach virus in the past month. I'm hoping we'll be much healthier in February.

Adler treats the dogs like her babies. She often feeds them and puts them down for naps. She occasionally brings them tea and coffee as well. They're good sports, most of the time.

Chicken Pox

Well, we were stuck at home for about a week while Owen fought the chicken pox. That's right....the CHICKEN POX!!!! Yes, he had the vaccine when he was younger, but he still caught it! Luckily, it was an extremely mild case, with only about 10 pox on his entire body and no other symptoms. This was a wonderful thing, but it was hard keeping him entertained at home, with no outings and no school. So we got creative with tie dye crafts and giant tents taking up the living room.

We're still waiting to see if Adler gets it or not and we should know by next weekend. Time will tell......
