Fathers Day Weekend at Burney Falls

Last weekend we went camping for Father's Day at Burney Falls in Northern California. This was the farthest north we have ever been in California and it was gorgeous!! Our camping trip included hiking, fishing, canoeing, and most importantly SMORES! On one side of the campground was Lake Britton and the other side was Burney Falls. Then there were hiking trails everywhere in between. It was amazing, one of the best campgrounds we've ever been to.

Adler's 8 Month Photos

We had these adorable pictures taken of Adler several weeks ago when she was 8 and a half months old. She wasn't in the best mood during this photo shoot (no doubt due to the ridiculous tutu and headband I tortured her with), but of course Johnstone Studios captured some great images anyway. They always do such great work! And what a precious baby girl we have!

Adler has the habit of making this cute, little squishy face! I'm glad we got it on camera, because I've been trying for weeks and can never catch it.

Adler Scoots

Here is Little Miss Adler scooting all over the house. She is thinking about crawing, but scooting is still easier for her.

The Garden

Micah has been preparing for our summer garden for over a month now. It seemed like it would never warm up enough for us to plant everything outside. He and Owen planted starter seeds weeks ago and they have been growing all over the house. This is Owen painting some bean poles for the garden red.

Catching Up

I am majorly behind on the blog, so here is an update with a bunch of pictures over the past month. Here is Adler in the crawl position.....she's not crawling yet but she is officially getting around. She scoots all over the house on her butt and will likely master the crawling any day now. Watch out big brother....

Playing at the playground
One of Owen's recent drawings....the blue drawing is a portrait of Daddy. He has very long arms.

Owen has a magazine subscription to Click (a super cute mag for kids). This is what he was doing right after it came in the mail. This issue was all about dinosaurs and Owen loved all the stories.

Look into my eyes.....

Adler's first wagon ride.....being entertained by her brother.

Owen teaching bad habits.

Why isn't this cute on adults??

This is how Micah keeps Adler entertained when he's working in the garage.

Owen's new favorite place to sleep.

Owen's Big Adventure

Micah and Owen took a quick trip to Texas last week. Micah went to celebrate his brother Mark's upcoming wedding, and to watch his brother Matt compete in a track meet. Owen was SO excited to get on an airplane (even very early in the morning) and fly all the way to TEXAS!!!!

First stop.....Austin.....for the 2010 Track & Field Championships. Matt competed in the discus and hammer throws.
This was Matt's final track meet in college, as he is graduating from SFA in August!
The Langdons
I love this picture of Owen because you can see the Texas State Capital in the background (not to mention my adorable son).
Once the track meet was over, Matt and Micah headed to South Texas to join Mark for a guys weekend, and Owen headed to College Station with his Mimi and Olfa for some grandparent time.
There's not many pictures from the guys weekend together......better to not have any proof, I guess. There was plenty of beer drinking though!
On their drive back to College Station, they made 2 stops to see their grandparents. Micah's Pop was in the hospital at the time. He's better now and back at home.

Owen's trip to the grandparent's house was significant because this was the first time that Owen has spent the night away from both Micah and me (with the exception of the night Adler was born). He was very excited to go for a visit all by himself.....such a big boy! I think it was harder for me than it was for him. Check out all the cool things he got to do while he was there.

Riding in the Langdon Jeep.
Playing with new toys

Driving a golf cart

Playing golf with Papa Fred

Feeding the cattle

Riding in the Prius on the ranch....yup, that's how they do it in Texas.

Jump, jump, jump

Trip to the Children's Museum

with Uncle Brian

Swimming

Reading with Olfa

Visiting Mimi's school

Freebirds.....YUM!
Family dinners

Back to the airport

And this is what Owen looked like at the Reno airport waiting for luggage to arrive.....Texas tired this little boy out!
He had a blast and didn't miss me at all. He's already talking about our next trip to Texas and our cruise, which is coming up very quickly. We can hardly wait!
