Mr. Independent
Owen decided this past week that he prefers to feed himself. He does NOT want to eat from a spoon anymore. So, we've had to get really creative with finger foods. He's eating all kinds of new things now: cucumbers, cheese, cantaloupe, watermelon, peaches, kiwi, crackers, and basically any veggie/fruit sliced up. This has made meal time VERY messy! Because of this, Owen has been taking a lot more baths lately!

Some more hints for little Owen and finger foods: Take an egg, put it in a small cup, scramble it around a bit, and microwave it until it's cooked. Viola, instant scrambled eggs! Easy to pick up and feed to oneself. Also, Cheerios are good for this age, and you can take frozen peas and carrots (bagged from the store) and nuke them in some water until warm. (BTW, Abbie didn't like being fed from a spoon for long either. It was all about learning to feed herself. She ate jarred baby food for maybe a month, then insisted on the solid stuff.)
Yay Owen! Such a grown up handsome boy!
