Growing Boy
Owen had his 2 week doctor's appointment yesterday and he has already grown over an inch! He is now just over 22 inches long and weighs 8 pounds, 12 ounces. Dr. Hall said his growth was outstanding! Micah's family also arrived yesterday, so we really have a full house now. Everyone is fighting over who gets to hold Owen.....he is very loved. Last night he watched his first Aggie football game (the outcome isn't important) and today he had his very first bath! I knew he would love the water......he didn't cry at all. I think he's going to be a swimmer!

2 Weeks Old
We can hardly believe that Owen is 2 weeks old already! Micah actually had to go back to work this morning and we already miss him being home with us! But Kelly's Dad, Mary, Colby and Madison are here visiting and they have been a big help! We also had a fun Christmas yesterday.....but Owen slept through most of it!

Owen Update
Owen is really doing great! He is nursing well and sleeping in between meals. When he is awake he is very alert and fun to play with. We had a nurse from the hospital come over for a home visit on Tuesday and she said he was perfect! He had lost weight in the few days after he was born (which is normal for nursing babies), but by Tuesday he was already back up to his birth weight. The nurse seemed impressed by this and said he was very healthy and getting plenty to eat! He is missing his Grandmom, but looking forward to meeting the rest of his grandparents in the next week!

Baby Owen
Nasty!
They don't all stink but you never know when one is going to sneak up on you so the face mask comes in pretty handy. The other night we were changing him and looked away for a second and when we looked back down there was a small fountain! At a closer look his face was dripping wet and some how he had sprayed the wall as well!! That is why you should alway wear saftey glasses. I had no idea the range a new born boy had with his pee!

Welcome Home Owen!
Owen has been home now for almost one day and we are really enjoying him. We were ready to leave the hospital yesterday afternoon and bring him home for the first time. He is such a good baby. He loves, loves, loves to sleep and rarely fusses. He seems to be very calm and easy going (a typical Langdon trait). The dogs are really curious about him but have behaved themselves so far....even Sandy! Kelly's mom is here and has already been so much help. She's been busy helping with Owen, cooking, and running errands for us. We're are so thankful she is here! Here are some more pictures of our new son (that sounds really weird)!!

Langdon Life!!!
We can now refer to “It” as Owen Jay Langdon! He arrived at 3:14 am on the 12th of December in Carson City, Nevada. He weighs 8 pounds 7 ounces and is 21 inches long. He has blue eyes and the little hair he has looks brown. Kelly did an amazing job. In the thick of it she went from 3 centimeters to 9 centimeters in about one hour. Ouch!

Coming soon....
Like it or not this baby is coming!!!
We had an appointment this morning where they did an ultrasound. Everything looked great except for the amniotic fluid was a little low so the doctor recommend that we induce labor. Not the best news but at least we will finally get to meet this little human that we created. So far we have been hanging out today. They gave Kelly some fluids and we walked a couple of miles up and down the small little hallway out side the room. She feels great now, but I have a feeling this is going to change pretty soon! Hopefully we will have a baby picture up for everyone to see very soon!

No Baby Yet
Well, the baby's due date - December 5th - has come and gone with no news to share. For the last nine months we have put so much focus on this one specific date, so it was kind of a disappointment yesterday for the day to pass with no excitement. But we all know that the due date is just an estimate and that the baby will for sure arrive in the next 2 weeks. We're really trying to be patient here, but it's getting harder every day.
We saw the doctor this morning and everything still looks good. They monitored the baby's heart rate and movement as well as my contractions for about 30-45 minutes. I am having regular contractions (they seem to be about every 10 minutes or so) but I'm not feeling them at all. The doctor doesn't think I'll go into labor until next week, although anything can happen at this point. My next appointment is on Monday where she will monitor the baby again and do an ultrasound to check on everything. We haven't had an ultrasound since I was 19 weeks along, so that should be fun. That's about all we know for now. But we do feel blessed that the babe is healthy and made it the entire 40 weeks! And now we'll just try to keep ourselves busy so we don't dwell on when the baby will arrive.

One more day and a Christmas Tree
So I don’t know if you guys have been counting but we are officially one day away from having a baby. Well at least one more day until our due date. We will have to see if this kid is a procrastinator like its old man. If not on Tuesday, then hopefully by the end of the week! We will keep you posted.
We had a pretty good weekend. On Saturday Micah went up to Heavenly for the morning and managed not to hurt himself to bad. Kelly had a relaxing pedicure, so her feet will look nice when she meets her new child for the first time! In the afternoon we went to Jacob’s birthday in Reno. Jacob is Andrea’s son whom Kelly works with. He turned one, and it was funny because about halfway though the party he had to sneak out and take a nap. That night we got our first real Christmas tree as a married couple. We decorated it on Sunday and put together a video of the process. Hope you enjoy it.

Gobble Gobble Weekend
We spent Turkey Day with our friends Enid and Cory in Reno. Enid is also pregnant and due 5 days before Kelly.....now the race is on to see who has their baby first! Her parents did most of the cooking and were really sweet to have us over. Today we spent the day in Reno with other friends, Eric and Hillary. We probably saw the last movie of our non-parenting lives, the new James Bond 007.
Then we went to a Chocolate Bar to satisfy Kelly's recent sweet tooth. It's been a pretty good and relaxing 4 day weekend.

We're counting down......

Only 13 days until the due date! It's getting really close, but I think we're going to have to keep waiting. We saw the doctor today and there is no progress or sign that the baby will come early. The doc thinks this will be a December baby after all. And she said to prepare myself in case the baby decides to have a late arrival! But I'm feeling really good and don't really have any complaints. We're both getting anxious to meet this little baby and find out if it's a boy or a girl. Place your bets now!
I do think my belly is growing bigger and bigger by the minute! The doctor estimates that baby is now around 7 pounds, growing fast, and very healthy. The babe also likes to hang out on the right side of my belly......never the left side! My belly is definitely lop-sided!

All our bags are packed, we're ready to go......
We have been really busy this past week getting prepared for baby's arrival! I had another shower at my office last week, planned by my good friend Tasha. They all pitched in and gave Baby Langdon a red Radio Flyer tricycle that came with red cowboy boots and a red cowboy hat! It is SO adorable! Micah and I both had red boots when we were kids, so this gift was extra special! We also received a bunch of other gifts.....clothes, blankets, toys, cups, plates, spoons and more! It's truly amazing how generous everyone has been!

Micah and I have our hospital bags packed and the baby's room completely ready to go now. We did our last minute shopping this weekend and feel like we're as physically prepared as we're going to get! We took an infant care class on Saturday where Micah practiced putting on diapers and swaddling the baby like a burrito. We also received a tour of the hospital and the maternity ward. The rooms are spacious and super nice! They are labor, delivery and recovery rooms, which means we'll stay in the same room the entire stay (unless we have to have a C-section for some reason). The rooms are nicer than many hotel rooms we've stayed in and come equipped with a TV, DVD player, microwave, small fridge, and a couch/bed for the hubbies to sleep. The newborn babies also stay in the room with the parents. We have been very impressed with the hospital!
Oh, and not only does baby have it's first pair of boots, he/she also has it's first pair of converse tennis shoes!!! We just couldn't resist!
