Introducing........Titus!

We did it!  After talking about it for months, we adopted a puppy!
This is Titus.
We decided to adopt from Austin Pets Alive and visited their facility regularly for about a month. As much as I wanted to adopt a older dog, the kids were desperate for a puppy.  Titus was actually born at Austin Pets Alive, as his mom was rescued while she was pregnant.  He was the runt in a litter of twelve and stole our hearts the first time we met him.  His foster family named him Titus and the name stuck.
Titus is two months old the Vet thinks he is a Catahoula mix.
We can't wait to see what he's going to look like as an adult.

Titus is settling in easily at home.  He was a little nervous the first few days, but is right at home now.  He sleeps through the night in his kennel, enjoys being outside, loves his toys, and likes playing soccer with Owen.

We are all so thrilled to have a furry friend in our home again.  He is already bringing a joy back into our lives that has been missing since we lost Kirby and Sandy last year.  We look forward to many happy years with him!
Welcome to our family, Titus!

Disney on Ice

We surprised Adler and Jordynn last Sunday with a Disney on Ice show!  The girls got all dressed up in their princess dresses and had no idea where we were going until we arrived and the show started.
I didn't know what to expect, but the show was really fantastic!  The costumes and props were amazing, and the skating was cool too.  They re-enacted scenes and songs from Tangled, The Little Mermaid, Brave, and Beauty & the Beast.  The girls LOVED it!

After the show, we topped off our afternoon with a meal at the Cheesecake Factory!
What a fun girly day!

Let's Dance!

Last weekend Adler danced in her second dance recital.  This year she danced twice, first ballet and then tap.  She has been going to dance class once a week since September and often called it her favorite day of the week.  She has definitely grown over the past year, because she was calm, excited, and showed no sign of being nervous before going on stage!
Adler was the youngest in her class, but she knew the routines pretty good!
This is how we kept the girls occupied backstage.....coloring and movies!
Here they are right before going on stage!
Adler had a small cheering section at the recital!  We are lucky that so many of our family members drove in to Austin to support her!

My mom bought these giant suckers for the kids after the recital.....this made the kiddos extremely happy.  Owen finished his after 3 days but Adler is still working on hers!

San Antonio Zoo

On Tuesday morning I woke the kids up and surprised them with an impromptu trip to the San Antonio Zoo!  Ann and Jay gave us a membership a while back and we were happy to finally use it!  I wanted to go there before the weather got too hot and it was perfect.  We'll have to go back in the fall.
Our friends Glenna, Lovelace and their niece Ayla joined us as well!
Can you tell where Owen's new haircut inspiration came from??

This was one lucky pig, being pampered by 4 kids!
Carousel Fun!  This was just reconstructed for the zoo's 100th birthday!

Ft. Worth

Last weekend we went to Ft. Worth for the weekend to hang with Micah's brothers.  We spent Saturday at the Ft. Worth Stockyards.
We walked through the historic stockyards, which was pretty interesting, and also watched the cattle drive through the main street.

The kids enjoyed the wooden maze and the petting zoo!

On Sunday the entire Langdon family went to SIX FLAGS!!!
I hadn't been to Six Flags since I was a kid and it was so much fun taking our kiddos there for the first time.  The weather was excellent and we literally shut the park down that evening.

We rode lots of kid rides and roller coasters.  Adler is Miss Adventure and willing to ride anything.  Unfortunately, she needs to grow about 1 more inch in order to ride most of the rides.  But she loved every second!  Owen is much more cautious and unsure about the roller coasters.  He also had fun, but wasn't willing to ride many of the bigger rides. He also got sick on the tea cups.  :o(

We even managed a few adult roller coasters, which I had almost forgotten how much I enjoyed!  We now have season passes so we will be going back soon!

13 Years!!

Micah and I celebrated 13 years of marriage on Monday!  I don't even feel old enough to have been married to someone for that long, so it's kind of unbelievable!  But we did celebrate last weekend by going zip lining over Lake Travis!  My mom came into town and watched the kids for us, which was great because this was about a 4 hour tour.  She also gave this zip lining tour to Micah for his birthday, so thanks for the adventure, Mom!
There were 5 zip lines that we rode; the first 2 were short and easy and the last 3 were pretty long and fast.
The guy on the zip line behind us was one of our tour guides....he had a sense of humor and made the tour a lot of fun!

Check out how low Lake Travis is.  Apparently it's around 40-45 feet low.  Really sad.  We actually drove across the lake bed to get to the zip lines.  Before the drought they used to boat people across the lake.

The last zip line we rode was the longest in Texas and also a double line so Micah and I rode at the same time.
So. much. fun.
