15 Months Old
Last week Owen had his 15 month doctor's appointment. He weighed in at 25 pounds (75th percentile) and is 35 inches tall (100+ percentile). So, I guess he's tall and skinny! I am happy to report that he is no longer drinking anything from a bottle! He only gets a sippy cup now and the transition went really smooth (even at daycare). We're having a harder time breaking him of baby food. Although he will eat some "real" food (his favorites being bananas and cheese), he prefers the texture of baby food. So we continue to give him some of both at each meal. One thing is for sure - this boy loves to eat!!

Happy Easter!
What a great Easter we had! We spent the entire day outside and enjoyed the 70 degree weather! We biked all over Carson City with Owen's new bike trailer.....First we went to the community wide Easter Egg Hunt (complete chaos) and then we biked to the Easter event at the Governor's Mansion where we were able to meet the Governor and First Lady and they gave Owen a wooden commemorative Easter Egg.
Owen also hunted for eggs twice at home. In the morning we hid them all over the living room inside, and in the afternoon we scattered them throughout the front yard for him to find. Notice in the pictures that Owen preferred to ride his car around the yard and collect the eggs on the floorboard of his car, rather than in a basket. He was pretty funny!

Happy St. Patty's Day!
Hope everyone had a great St. Patty's Day! Owen went to Gymboree again today and LOVED the bubbles!
Owen's First "Real" Haircut
Many people have been asking us when we were going to cut Owen's hair......it was getting pretty shaggy. Actually, I think we could have pulled it back into a pony tail. But we were so hesitant to cut it because we knew it would help him loose his baby look. And we were right.....he's such a big boy now! He did great during the cut though. He just sort-of dazed out and took everything in. We took him to this cute place in Reno that's just for kids. They even had a TV in front of his chair so he could watch cartoons while his hair was being cut.

Let's Party!
Well, my 30th birthday is this week (YIKES) and I had several early surprises this past weekend! First, my mom flew in from Texas on Thursday to surprise me for the weekend, but I think we really surprised her instead! I was sick when she arrived, along with my brother and his friend Ryan. We all had some kind of stomach bug that lasted about 2 days. My mom really took care of us, cleaned the bathrooms, cooked, and washed laundry more than she probably ever planned. Luckily she, Micah and Owen never got sick! By Saturday we were all feeling better just in time for my surprise party at Firkin and Fox here in Carson City. It was a lot of fun and I was reminded once again how blessed I am with such wonderful family and friends! Thanks to everyone for making this week special....especially Micah for planning everything and my mom and brother for being here from Texas!

Uncle Brian Visiting!
My brother Brian and his friend Ryan are visiting this week. It's their spring break and they'll be here for 8 days! They've already gone skiing at Diamond Peak, played poker at the casino, and helped out a lot with Owen. They are both really good with him!
Gymboree Time
I have been taking Owen to Gymboree class once a week for about 4 weeks now. They have different obstacle courses set up and work on different skills each week. The teacher is great with the kids and we sing songs, blow bubbles, play with parachutes and have FUN! Owen loves it!
Here Owen was supposed to be pushing the big ball, but decided instead to carry it.

Watch Out Texas!
Owen and I took a quick trip to Texas this past weekend. I helped throw a baby shower for one of my best friends, Alyssa, who is due in April. We also tried to visit as many family members as possible. Owen had such a wonderful time with all his grandparents, uncles and aunt! We were ready to get home though.....Owen was thrilled to see his daddy at the airport (and so was I)! It's hard flying with a very active and mobile one year old alone.
