Owen's First "Real" Haircut

Many people have been asking us when we were going to cut Owen's hair......it was getting pretty shaggy. Actually, I think we could have pulled it back into a pony tail. But we were so hesitant to cut it because we knew it would help him loose his baby look. And we were right.....he's such a big boy now! He did great during the cut though. He just sort-of dazed out and took everything in. We took him to this cute place in Reno that's just for kids. They even had a TV in front of his chair so he could watch cartoons while his hair was being cut.

Let's Party!

Well, my 30th birthday is this week (YIKES) and I had several early surprises this past weekend! First, my mom flew in from Texas on Thursday to surprise me for the weekend, but I think we really surprised her instead! I was sick when she arrived, along with my brother and his friend Ryan. We all had some kind of stomach bug that lasted about 2 days. My mom really took care of us, cleaned the bathrooms, cooked, and washed laundry more than she probably ever planned. Luckily she, Micah and Owen never got sick! By Saturday we were all feeling better just in time for my surprise party at Firkin and Fox here in Carson City. It was a lot of fun and I was reminded once again how blessed I am with such wonderful family and friends! Thanks to everyone for making this week special....especially Micah for planning everything and my mom and brother for being here from Texas!

Uncle Brian Visiting!

My brother Brian and his friend Ryan are visiting this week. It's their spring break and they'll be here for 8 days! They've already gone skiing at Diamond Peak, played poker at the casino, and helped out a lot with Owen. They are both really good with him!

Owen loves to try on our shoes.....
Yup, that's my brother. I have no words.........
Owen loves the basketball.

Gymboree Time

I have been taking Owen to Gymboree class once a week for about 4 weeks now. They have different obstacle courses set up and work on different skills each week. The teacher is great with the kids and we sing songs, blow bubbles, play with parachutes and have FUN! Owen loves it!

Here Owen was supposed to be pushing the big ball, but decided instead to carry it.

Watch Out Texas!

Owen and I took a quick trip to Texas this past weekend. I helped throw a baby shower for one of my best friends, Alyssa, who is due in April. We also tried to visit as many family members as possible. Owen had such a wonderful time with all his grandparents, uncles and aunt! We were ready to get home though.....Owen was thrilled to see his daddy at the airport (and so was I)! It's hard flying with a very active and mobile one year old alone.

Red Bootie

I received these red boots as a shower gift from my co-workers when I was pregnant. Owen found them in his closet (they are still several sizes too big) and loves them!

Stop & Milk

Owen's still not talking that much, so we get pretty excited when he decides to communicate with us, either by speaking or signing. So here are two cute stories from yesterday and today:

#1: Last night Micah was reading the book Go Dog Go to Owen.....one of Owen's favorites. There's a part in the book that says, "Stop dogs STOP! The light is red." And when we read this to him we always hold our hand out as if telling someone to stop. Owen always laughs at this part in the book. So, when Micah got to this page in the book last night Owen yelled "STOP" and held his hand out. SO CUTE!!!!

#2: Owen has just recently started signing for milk regularly. This morning Micah was holding Owen with his shirt off and yes.......Owen pointed to Micah's nipple and signed for milk! Ha Ha!

Wild Man

Owen gets a huge burst of energy after his bath every night.......he becomes a WILD man! I think he tries to play with as many toys as possible in between bath time and bed time. These pictures were taken last night and all this damage was done within 30 minutes.

We took another trip to the park today with Owen's buddy Ryder.

Fun at the Park!

Now that the weather has warmed up we've been taking daily walks to the park. Owen loves the playground and can even go down the slide all by himself!

Owen just thinks he can control the dogs on a leash! This picture was taken right before the dogs escaped across the park to attack another dog! Sandy has no manners! (BTW, no dogs were harmed because of Sandy's wild escape)

Owen loves his dad's skateboard!

Hello - Bye Bye

This morning I heard Owen wake up in his crib and listened to him talk to himself for a while. When I finally walked into his room he was still laying down in his crib and he simply lifted up his hand and waved to me! It was so sweet! He waves at everything now.
