Olfa & Uncle Mark

We've had visitors! Olfa (Owen's Grandpa, Micah's dad) and Mark (Micah's brother) have been in town! Micah's dad stayed for about 5 days and had fun playing with Owen. Mark is going to stay with us for a while and it's nice to have him here! Owen is certainly having fun playing with his Uncle Mark! He doesn't know what to do with all this extra attention!

Picnic in the Park

We had a good weekend.....swimming and playing at the park. The weather has been gorgeous here lately, but tonight we have a chance of SNOW! Here are Owen and Micah having a lazy Saturday morning.

Supporting the Aggies

Owen supported the Aggies this week when they competed in the Sweet 16! Unfortunately, the clock ended when Memphis was one point ahead.....very disappointing!

Kelly's 29th Birthday

Yesterday I turned 29......and it was a good day! My mom sent me flowers to work and my co-workers prepared a really nice lunch at the office. They had all kinds of fancy foods, complete with candles and sparkling wine. They also pitched in and gave me a basket full of "pampering" gifts, which I will definitely enjoy. I also received gifts from several of my non-Nevada friends in the mail - it's always nice to get something in the mail other than bills! And last night Micah and Owen took me to dinner at BJ's in Reno, where Owen slept through most of the evening. I am very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends who made my birthday really special! Thanks Everyone!!!

Happy St. Patty's Day

On Saturday we visited our friends Enid, Cory and Brock in Reno. They had us over for a delicious lunch and we watched the Aggies make it into the Sweet 16! YAY!!! We were really hoping the Ags would be playing Nevada in the 3rd round this week, but UNR lost today against Memphis. Anyways, Owen and Brock had the same green outfits on for St. Patrick's Day (this was not planned) and aren't they adorable???? Owen really wanted Cory's beer and kept reaching for it. I think he was fascinated with the colored label, but Micah likes to think he just has a taste for beer!

3 Month Pictures

Here are Owen's formal 3 month pictures we had taken at Target. He wasn't in a very good mood, but we got a few really good ones. My favorite is the one with his tongue sticking out! He has just recently discovered his tongue.

Happy 3 Month Birthday Owen!

Yesterday Owen turned 3 months old and today I had to return to work....that is work I actually get paid to do. It was a pretty rough day leaving Owen behind but I am hopeful tomorrow will be easier. I'm only working part-time for now and it helps that we feel comfortable with the lady who is watching him. She works out of her home and keeps one other baby, Ryder, who is only 3 weeks older than Owen. And I am friends with Ryder's mom, so we know him fairly well. I also went to nurse Owen on my lunch hour so that helped break the day up. Here are a few photos of him sporting Texas shirts!

Beach and Snow

Owen had a fun weekend up at Tahoe! The weather is very warm for this time of year and we were able to take Owen up to the lake for his very first picnic on the beach! Then we drove up the mountain a bit and found some snow to play in. Owen even went sledding for the first time....on a very small hill!

Owen's First Swim

I took Owen swimming for the first time on Friday. Our pool has a baby swim class several times a week in the therapy pool, which feels like bath water. Owen swam with his friends Ryder and Sofia, both just a few weeks older than him. Owen did really good....he didn't smile or fuss, just was very calm and took everything in. We may go again this week when Micah can join us.

Like Father, Like Son

15 Pounder

I was able to weigh Owen this week and he is now 15 pounds! He is sleeping about 8 hours each night and Micah and I are REALLY enjoying this! He is awake more during the day and likes to play and talk. He is getting more coordinated with his movements and likes to suck on his hand for as long as he can keep it there. The weather has been nice this week and we have been going on daily walks. Life is good.....

Playing

Owen is playing more and more now. He has started reaching for toys and really likes his little play station. And Sandy likes to be near Owen all the time. Owen has also taken up drooling. We have to keep a bib on him most of the time so his clothes don't get soaked. We think he'll start laughing any day now. He has these silent laughs going on and we're just waiting for a giggle to go along with that adorable smile!
