Extreme Stroller

Check out our new toy! Now Micah has something new to take off-roading! Pa and Grammy Yawn (Kelly's dad and step-mom) bought Owen this awesome all-terrain jogging stroller. It was raining the first few days we had it so we tried it out in our hallway. But we took it out yesterday and today and it is super nice! Owen just falls right asleep, even on the rocky trails.

Bumbo

Here is Owen sitting in his new Bumbo. I had several people tell me about the Bumbo and how great they are for babies to sit in. So, I ordered one and we got it in the mail today! Owen is a little young for it right now so he only sits in it for a few minutes....he is really using his neck muscles! He'll be able to use the Bumbo more once he can hold his head up better.

First Live Sporting Event

On Saturday we went to the UNR (University of Nevada Reno) basketball game....no, it wasn't the Aggies, but it was still a good time! UNR always has a decent basketball team and the game was really exciting. They ended up beating Hawaii by one point in the last minute of the game. Owen did really good there and got lots of attention! Everyone loves babies! After the game we went to eat pizza and caught the end of the Aggie basketball game on TV.....we were definitely the most excited people in the restaurant to see the Ags win!

Good news....last night Owen slept all night long!! YAY!!! He slept for 7 hours, which is by far the most he's ever slept at one time. We feel very rested this morning. We'll see if he does it again or if this was a one-time thing!

The weather here has been really warm.....not winter-like at all. It's been nice for us but bad for the snowboarders. We're planning on going for a hike this afternoon.

BIG Boy!

Owen had his 2 month appointment today (he'll be 8 weeks old on Monday). He weighs 13 pounds, 3 ounces and is 24.5 inches long! He is in the 80th percentile of his age group! Dr. Hall said he was extremely healthy, happy, and growing quickly. Owen also got his first round of immunizations today. He wasn't too happy about it but the shots didn't bother him nearly as much as I thought they would. He just cried for a few seconds.....he's one tough baby!

So Much Fun

There's not much going on this week. The weather has been pretty warm so we have been going on daily walks/hikes. It sure is nice to get outside some! Owen is really getting to be fun because he is interacting with us more and more each day!

6 Weeks Old

I took Owen to have his 6 week old pictures yesterday! He did really good and even smiled for the camera (click on the title to see more pictures)! Just this past week he grew out of most of his infant clothes. He is too long for them and is now wearing mostly 3-6 month clothes. Hard to believe! He goes to the doctor next week and I am anxious to find out how much he weighs! I am guessing he'll be over 12 pounds....very big for a 6 week old!

Play Time

Here are some pictures of Owen's playtime. His smiles are more frequent now. And while he lays on his tummy he is starting to lift up his head and turn it towards voices. He is learning so quickly and his neck is getting stronger every day.

First Bottle

Micah got to feed Owen for the first time this week! Owen is still not real efficient with a bottle, but I'm sure he'll get better. He's only getting one bottle a day for now though. But he likes his "bonding with Dad" time. Owen and I drove up to Micah's office yesterday for a visit. That's about the most exciting thing we've done this week. We're glad it's Friday so Micah will be home for a few days!

More Visitors!

Melissa flew all the way from Washington DC to meet Owen this past weekend! He is one popular baby! We had a great visit and as it turns out.....Owen is really good at shopping with the girls!

4 Weeks Old

It's really hard for us to believe, but Owen is now 4 weeks old! The month has just flown by! On Sunday Owen had his first play date.....our friends Enid and Cory brought their son Brock over to play. Brock is 2 weeks older than Owen and it was fun to get them together! Then yesterday Enid and I went to a Breastfeeding Support Group in Reno and it was interesting to be in a room full of other moms and infants. They had a scale there and Owen now weighs 10 pounds, 11 ounces!!! He is definitely healthy and looked bigger than the other babies his age. And he seems to have really big hands and feet....he gets lots of comments on the size of his hands!

Just the Three of Us

We had a great time with all our family these past 3 weeks! Everyone is gone now and it's just the three of us.....and the house seems extremely quiet. But we're getting along and trying to form some sort of routine with Owen. Unfortunately, he's not big on routine yet. So we eat and sleep when Owen wants to eat and sleep. Every day is different. He is growing before our eyes and becoming more aware of things daily. Within the past few days he has become fascinated with the mobile above his swing. He'll watch it in awe like it's the most amazing thing in the world.....pretty cute! Here are some recent pictures of our handsome son.
