Happy Thanksgiving

We hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving yesterday! Of course we miss being with family on holidays, but we're lucky to have wonderful friends here in Nevada. We had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner last night with our friends Karen and Lawrence and their family.

2 Months Old

Little Miss Adler is already 2 months old! Here's what she's up to now:

  • She's smiling and cooing
  • She's sleeping through the night (YAY!)
  • She's responding to our voices
  • She follows us around with her eyes
  • She's wearing 3 month clothes (which is great because she has a ton of adorable clothes in this size)

Adler had her 2 month check up today and is growing like a champ! She weighs 12 pounds, 9 ounces (90th percentile) and is 23 1/4 inches long (70th percentile).

Many thanks to Auntie Lacey for this cute outfit!

Random Pictures

Here are some random pictures of Owen and Adler taken over the past few weeks.

We have an apple tree in our back yard and the apples are VERY tasty this fall! Owen likes to snack on them when he's helping his dad with the yard work.

Owen also enjoys playing in the leaves!!

Owen has been sleeping in some interesting positions lately. I think this is a Langdon trait.

Owen looks like he got into a bad fight here, but really his face is just filthy from dinner. He still asks to hold Adler several times a day.
Family reading time.....

This past weekend Owen participated in a Children's Theater Production of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? As you can see Owen played the blue horse. It was cute seeing the kids act out the book.

Taking a bow.

Owen's new favorite game to play is air hockey. And he's actually pretty good!

Looking Back

When I was pregnant with Adler, Micah documented my growing belly and just made this short video. We did this with Owen too, but this time Micah took more pictures.

Also, here are some pictures of Adler I haven't posted yet. These were taken when she was one week old, but I've been waiting to post them until her birth announcements were out. It's amazing how much she's already grown!

Adler is laying on an afghan my grandmother made for me when I was kid.

I absolutely LOVE these pictures of Micah and Adler. So special!

She Smiles. She Sleeps.

My baby girl is already changing. She's giving us quite a few smiles now, she's cooing, AND SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!! For the past 3 nights she's slept from about 10:00 pm to 5:00 am! We are loving it!!

She has also made the move to her co-sleeper, which is a bassinet that opens up to our bed. She's been sleeping in our bed with us since she was born, which made it easy for me to feed her in the middle of the night. But now that she's sleeping for longer periods of time, we can have the bed to ourselves for most of the night (but she's right there next to me). But by 7:00 am every morning I'm still waking up to both of my kids in our queen size bed. This is really tight, as you can imagine, but what a great way to start my day!

Little Hiker

Owen has become quite the little hiker! We take the dogs out to run in the hills on the east side of Carson City pretty often, and I think Owen enjoys it just as much as the dogs! Here Owen is waiting patiently for us to start our hike to the top of the hill.

Adler was awake for the beginning, but it didn't take long for her to fall asleep. She loves to be carried!

Owen is OFF and mom has to keep up somehow!
Owen prefers to go off trail (I wonder where he gets that from)? But it was pretty steep so on the way down we made him stay on the trail.

Can you find us in all those rocks???

Super Dad!

My twin boys.

My little monster.....

And we made it.....all the way to the top! We don't think we ever hiked anything like this when we were less than 3 years old!

Adler's Room

Adler's room has been a work in progress since she was born. Since we didn't know if she was a girl or boy until her birth, we had planned on leaving the baby room the same as it was for Owen. But after I had a baby girl on my hands, I felt the need to make the room a little more girly.
The polka dots used to include 2 other shades of blue, but we re-painted those dots pink and brown.
