Yawn Clan

We spent our last 3 days in College Station, where all of our parents live. This is the Yawn Clan.....my dad's side of the family.

My sister Madison and me. Owen absolutely loved his Aunt Madison!! She even shared her bed with him every night. So sweet.

We spent an afternoon on my dad's boat on Lake Conroe. The water isn't near as clear as what we're used to at Tahoe, but it's warm! Ahhhhhh......it was wonderful.
This is Owen with his dad and all of his uncles: Brian, Colby, Mark & Matt. This family needs some more girls!

Even Owen got to tube! He LOVED it!

This is Owen with his cousin, Jordynn. She's such a cutie!

Owen learned to ask his Papa for cake instead of his mom. Smart kid.

Ladies Only

Our trip to Texas was planned around a wedding shower I helped throw for one of my best friends, Melissa. So, while my boys went to South Texas I stayed in Austin and spent a little time with my old college roomies. One evening we went to a Ladies 80's Sing-Along at the Alamo Drafthouse......yes, I realize I look completely ridiculous, but that's the point, right??

We had a blast singing along and watching old 80's videos......Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Pat Benatar, Belinda Carlise, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany.....yes, I know them all!

Here we are looking a little more normal at the wedding shower. Melissa's wedding is planned for October in Texas, five weeks after my due date. Think I'll make it???

This is Tracy's gorgeous baby girl, Cecily. I hadn't seen her since she was 1 month old, and she's all grown up now. She already has wonderful taste is shoes!

South Texas

The second stop on our trip for Micah and Owen was South Texas to visit Micah's grandparents. This is Micah and Owen with Grandma Langdon.

When Micah was a kid he spent quite a bit of time fishing with his Pop. So he was really excited to go fishing again and to take Owen fishing for the first time!

Owen had a blast playing and wrestling with his Uncle Matt.

We finally all met up back in College Station and here's Micah's whole family.
Micah bought this jeep in college, but after graduation needed something a little more reliable. So, he sold it to his dad! Now this has become the Langdon Guys Jeep and no surprise.....Owen LOVED riding in it!

At the Ranch

Our first stop in Texas was my family's ranch, near Brady. Owen was really excited about this stop because we told him he could ride in a tractor and feed the cows (the cows turned out to be a bit aggressive). I was really excited about this stop because it's probably my favorite place to be in Texas.....I have tons of memories here as a child and I hope Owen will make great memories here too!

Owen was grinning ear to ear the entire time he was in Grandma's BIG tractor! His Grandma also bought him a "tractor hat" to wear.

Owen loves his Grandma Willems because she has more energy than he does, and gives him tons of attention!
Owen also spent some time with his 93 year-old Great Grandmother. As a former English teacher, she was thrilled to read books to him!
Of course Owen chased the cats and kittens all over the ranch, and even managed to catch a few.

Texas Travels

I know it's been a while since I last posted on our blog, but we've been busy traveling through Texas! If you're familiar with Texas at all you'll know that traveling to Austin, Brady, Corpus Christi and College Station within 8 days is pretty impressive. But that's exactly what we did! We have so many pictures from our trip that it's going to take me a while to sort through them all, so here's just the beginning. We left early last Tuesday morning and this is Owen eating breakfast on the plane.

We had a very long lay-over in Oakland and this is how we spent at least one hour of it. Riding back and forth and back and forth on the moving walkway. Owen was thrilled! I think this was the only time he actually stood still.......he mostly ran in both directions, only stopping if someone got in his way.

Yes, this is how we hypnotize Owen to sit still in an airplane for 4 hours. It's amazing what cartoons can do!

And this picture was taken around 11:00 pm last night just after arriving back in Reno.....Owen was one tired boy!

Our Family Photos

If you need some amazing professional pictures taken, we've got the photographers for you! We are so pleased with the family pictures Johnstone Studios took of us a few weeks ago. We took these at Meeks Bay, on the west side of Lake Tahoe, on a day where we thought it was going to rain on us. But the rain held off and the clouds made some gorgeous beach photos. I feel like they really captured us as a family of three, and I'm sure I'll look back on these years from now and they will remind me of this exciting time for our family.
